ATLANTA, Ga. – The teams behind Inside Cheerleading, Inside Dance and Inside Gymnastics magazines, in association with Los Angeles based Vandervort Entertainment, are developing a new fictional web series to debut this summer. In Welcome to My World, the sports and arts of gymnastics, cheerleading and dance collide in this scripted online program that will be jam-packed with action, comedy, drama and some amazing acrobatic and dance performances.
“For many years, gymnastics, dance and cheerleading have been relegated to the background in the media and we want to bring these great sports and arts front and center,” says Chris Korotky, President of Inside Publications, who will also serve as Executive Producer on the series. “As Inside Publications continues to add extensions of our brands, video-based entertainment and programing will play a key role in complimenting our magazines. I’m excited to bring something new and different to our audience and in a platform that crosses over our reader base of three of our publications.”
The series will feature a cast of gymnasts who have earned national and NCAA honors, cheerleaders who have won national and world titles as well as dancers who have graced the stage and screen and performed on Broadway. Plus, special guest stars like Olympians, Shannon Miller and Jake Dalton, cheerleading All Star, Bianca Treger and dance legends like Travis Wall of So You Think You Can Dance and Shaping Sound will be special guest stars. More castings will be announced soon.
To bring this new series to life, a crowd-funding campaign through indiegogo is running now. Fans can play a role in the development and can also pick up some great perks along the way for their involvement. Among the perks offered for campaign contributions are autographed merchandise from superstars of the worlds of dance, cheer and gymnastics, series merchandise swag and unique opportunities like a walk-on role and a chance to have dinner with Olympic gymnast Jake Dalton.
